everything sounds normal.

going back to flight school, you have to be looking outside first. alerts will never be 1:1.

Brolin, can you explain how 2-300 feet away is "normal"? If we don't get an alert until conflicting traffic is less than a quarter of a second away from a mid-air, we might as well turn off the alert so we're not aware when the collision will happen. Yes I know we are looking out the window for traffic, but what good is an alarm 200 feet away at 160kn?

it isn't tcas and it isn't an AN-9 radar. we are interpreting signals pushed from somebody's transponder through a seperate adsb receiver. like i said before it isn't 1:1. it is made to let augment your SA, not be a standalone.

C'mon, Brolin. He's specifically asking about iFly's behavior, not the performance of his ADSB receiver.

He has told you that the traffic target is being displayed properly. If iFly is displaying it properly, then his receiver is working and iFly is getting the data, so please move past that.

He's asking why iFly is not generating a useful alert. It's a legitimate question. Perhaps an ADSB log and a bug report would be useful to investigate the behavior?

A suggestion would be to try and duplicate the scenario on another tablet, such as an iPad, that is runing the IFLYGPS app. That way, one could rule out whether it is a hardware or software issue.
