I can see the target approaching and going from gree to yellow to red but the alert doesn't souind until the target is in midair location right off  the wing at 100-200 feet.

However, if a target is 2500 feet directly above or below it sounds off even though there is no conflict.

Suggestions?

John,

Give us some more information on your setup.  What type of airplane?  On what device are you running the IFLYGPS app  (740b tablet, IPAD, Android, etc.) ????????   What make/model of ADSB unit are you using?   Where are the antennas mounted?

Thanks,

Steve

Two other variables to consider.  First, where do you fly because there is sparse ADSB coverage in certain parts of the country?    Secondly, at what altitude do you fly?  Somewhere I believe I read that the ADSB towers have a "three tier" configuration based upon altitude coverage.

Suggest you go fly above 10,000 feet in some location where there is radar coverage, nearby........and report back as to the results.

My $.02 worth.

Aircraft:  Avid Flyer MK4 similar to Kitfox

Gallaxy Tab A tablet

Altitude: 3500 MSL

Antenna on bottom front.

Tower location should be no factor since I am talking air-to-air notification from other aircraft.

As stated, I can see the target approaching and get a visual warning and distance but audio happens when target is VERY close. About 200-300 feet same altitide, opposite direction.
