I am super excited.  Hopefully, it will cross out some major items from the "Wish List."

The wait is killing me!

We are partnering with another outfit to get that running. They are having their big reveal at Oshkosh.

Whatever the solution, I hope it allows for a hardwire interface. I just have a problem trusting a wifi/bluetooth interface between the autopilot and the GPS NMEA source.

Very informative write-up. Moving to a generic is something i'm thinking about.

The brightness of my 740b into a tablet is my first concern, do you have a suggestion for a 1000 nit tablet.

The other thing i'm wondering is... if it is outputting NMEA out the USB for driving an auto Pilot..

Cheers

Yeah - will have to see where this goes. Same path from Lowrance to 700 to 720 to 740b. Simply I like having a dedicated unit permanently installed in plane and driving my Dynon autopilot. I get that windows CE is past EOL, surely there has to be an alternative Android based device out there with USB etc. that could superseed the 740b CE device. Hope so.

The reason for my concerns as to future support - I am in the middle of a panel upgrade for my RV8.

It is semi panel mounted via Air Gizmos mount. The autopilot requires NMEA output in a serial bus.

If the 740 is not going to be upgraded or replaced I am reluctant to continue down this path. Brand "G" in the Airgizmos mount is a drop in at this point.

Again, can anyone tell me what the NMEA interface would be for a tablet?
