Walter -

Can you tell us the time frame of when you are planning to release Vers. 7 of the iFly software?

Can you also tell us what new features you are planning to include with this new release?

Thanks,

Andre' Smith

Andre',

I'm always get in trouble when I mention specific features and dates, so I'll be vague here: We intend to have a release before sun-n-fun that adds terrain awareness - which includes on-screen map terrain altitude highlights, alerts, elevation profiles, and more. It's gonna be a slick feature. We may have one other huge feature in that release, I'll comment on that once I'm 100% confident it will be ready. And we'll have a host of smaller features, such as improved timer capabilities.

Thanks,
Walter

What awesome news - thanks for the update, Walter. As I live and fly in the Rockies, I'll have a hard time waiting for this new version!

I know it's still in the works, but will the Terrain feature require input data from an outside source (like the ADS-B functions that need a receiver/transceiver?) or will it use topographic data from charts and GPS input? I love the features, but my wanting them may require to buy more and more gadgets to add on than I really need or afford at the moment.

No gadgets to purchase. It will be a big one-time download to get the terrain database, but once downloaded the iFly will have everything it needs to support the terrain feature. This feature will be included free of charge to all our subscribers.
