There are multiple ways to post photos.  My preferred method is to upload the photo to an image hosting site (I use imgur.com, but there are many others you could use).  Then, in the iFly forum editor, put the cursor where you want the image to appear in your message, click the icon that's supposed to look like a photo (immediately left of the Sigma), and paste the link to your photo.

Yes, the forum software leaves much to be desired.  However, I'm willing to put up with it knowing that any updates to the forum would likely consume resources that would otherwise be applied to improving iFly.

FWIW, it takes me less than 30 seconds to post a photo here using Imgur.  You have to create an account, but after that it's pretty easy.

It is also possilbe to upload photos to this forum and then attach them to your post.  Click the same "picture" icon in-between the flag and the Sigma, then click the Upload tab, and upload your file.  After that it will probably guide you some more, but since I don't use that method I'm not sure what happens after that.
