We are using the 740b to drive our EZ Pilot 2-axis setup. Works great. We switched to the iFly 740b when our old Garmin 296 crapped out. Best failure we have ever had! You will need a data cable such as the one iFly sells:
https://www.iflygps.com/STORE/Product/all-products/usb-to-serial-cable
We cut the Garmin connector off of the original data wire coming out of the EZ Pilot and terminated it with a female DB9 connector and plugged that into the iFly DB9 male connector. Just chase down the correct pins for the new terminal. If you can't find them I can probably look them up from our notes.
Set the Baud rate and NMEA codes in the iFly setup and you should be good to go.
Best, John

Anyone running a 740b interfaced to a EZ pilot single axis wing leveler? if so interested in whats needed hardware and set up. Presently running my EZ pilot on Garmin 396 data output wire. Guessing the UBS port would be the same connection on the ifly and internal NMEA setup . Is there a UBS wire that would make up that interface connection easily ? Also interested in your results with ifly connected to an autopilot GPS course tracking device like the EZ pilot. Thanks
