I'm just wondering why our renewal to the database subscription doesn't just continue from the original date

rather than starting over like it is a new subscription. When renewed early, a magaizine or membership adds a year

starting at the experation day.

If you're asking what I think you're asking, this has been answered before. If you purchase a year subscription a month prior to your expiration, it will initially show that you lost your last month. However, the iFly office, at their (earliest?) opportunity, will amend your account and restore the "lost" month. They just don't have it automated.

Recommendation for the boss, just make a comment on the web page where you buy the subscription! It won't update the period of the subscription but it would help the users who don't understand what's going on.

Notification has been added to the description section. Please allow 24 business hours for any remaining subscription to be added to this purchase. Thanks for the great feedback. Not something that comes up that often, maybe this will help. We are working on the automation of this. I usually adjust many within minutes, however when they come in all hours of the night and morning, well you know. Thanks again for the great feedback and supporting us.
