Can anyone tell me how much it improves the GPS signal when you add the antenna accessory to the iFly?

My iFly 720 first, and now the 740, is mounted in the left window just behind the panel in the C182. I was worried that there wouldn't be enough sky exposure so I bought the external GPS antenna with the 720. When I upgraded to the 740, I tried it without the external antenna, and it has worked great. I don't think the external antenna helped any - your mounting position and aircraft might be different though - - -

starting with the 700 all the way to 740, I never needed an external antenna in my cherokee.

Both the internal and external antennas use similarly spec'd WAAS receivers, so side-by-side you probably wouldn't notice a difference. If there's a lot of metal in the panel to block the signals coming in, or equipment causing interference, the external should help get around that.
