To all Happy iFly Users.
I usually find my way to the iFly update site via google and am always disappointed to see that we (iFly) isn't generating more "buzz" on-line. So I suggest that the better off Walter and his gang are doing, the better chance we have that the product will grow and prices will stay affordable.
iFly is a very special product for a lot of reasons, but a huge part of that is the continuous improvement process, customer feedback program, and the responsiveness and openness of the product development team.
My perception is that the iPad is giving the iFly a run for it's money for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that it is generating a huge amount of reporting due to it's position as part of the Apple family, etc. I think the iFly is the better platform, but I am an engineer and have noticed that the best product doesn't always win. It is usually better to be popular than to be better (at least as far as high school prom king and electronic products go (remember betamax?)
So, I suggest that if we like iFly and want it to succeed, we take every opportunity to brag about it. Specifically,
- Write about it on your on-line airplane type forums
- Take a second to write a couple of lines to magazines, alphabet flying organizations, vendors, telling them that you have one and like it or just suggesting they review the iFly, etc. Nothing fancy, just mention the name.
- Write a review about it to the various vendors, Chief, Aircraft Spruce, etc to help get the fence sitters to buy it.
- Talk about it around the airport
- Do everything you can to "not keep the iFly a secret"
- Don't worry if someone else has already mentioned it to the organization or conversation - you mention it too. We want to generate consensus or preponderance of opinion
Please use this thread to make other suggestions of how to promote the iFly by users grass roots efforts.
Thanks, Brian- happy iFly user.
(incidentally, I mounted mine in a C-150 with the $0.25 hole and finish washer solution mentioned elsewhere in this forum. No glare issues or complaints.) Also, I have absolutely no affiliation with the iFly organization other than I paid retail for my iFly 700 about 4 months ago, paid my subscription fee and use it when I fly in the San Antonio area which has class C with a bunch of MOA's.~br
