Let me start off by saying that I am hooked on the iFly700....and I don't even own one yet. I'm sure I will be purchasing your fine product within the next few months, however, I still need to examine the options out there. Walter - have you done any side-by-side comparisons to other products (specifically the iPad/FF combo)? If so, is this something you can publish? From what I've seen the iPad option seems to be alot of 'fluff' and may be lacking some important features. With your version 5 release, I don't know how it can compete with the iFly700.

The good and the bad of the Ipad is it's size.

I don't have a competitive comparison document. If we create something like that we will be certain to communicate it to everyone.

More bad than good in this case. No chance of mountin' that thing in my cockpit.

I recently purchased an iFly 700 and thus far am very impressed. This is the first of many, many GPS units that I have owned that was not built by Garmin. I am accustomed to a high quality produce and the iFly 700 fulfils those expiations. The operation is very intuitive, the size is just about prefect, the battery pack has a long life, the display is very readable in sunlight, updating could hardily be easier.

I have a Gpsmap 296 and a 496 mounted on the yoke of my plane and they have done a good job for me for a long time. I acquired the iFly simply to live in my flight bag to simply replace a big bag of charts. However, after just a bit of examination and exploring features I will be very surprised if it doesn’t fined a home somewhere on the on or near my plane’s panel.

I am currently of the opinion that the iFly 700 provides the very best bang for the buck in a portable GPS.
