Hello Walter,
I just received my I FLY 700 unit, and I am very excited about this unit. At least for the VFR portion. I also received a brand new Garmin 496, and borrowed my friends Aera 560, had played with my yet another friend's 696. All and all I also have my own flight Cheetah, I must congratulate you and your team on a wonderful job done on the software and to a great degree on the hardware. The VFR sectional reminds me of the Sky Vector, which I thought was excellent and cool. I would like to know how to select an airport with IFR approach, then be able to select the approach, and see a route to the destination. I realize this unit along with hundreds of other portable GPS are not " IFR Certified" , yet most have the capability to shoot the approach, and as such it is used as a back up or simply having fun doing the approach under VFR condition, while you are under the hood. Could you please kindly help me with this? . So far I have been advocating this unit to my friends who have Garmin aera and 696.
I like the I fly700 large screen, and so far I have tried it in my car. No problem with Sun what so ever, did a dry run in my plane on the ground , looked ok, but have to take it up, and see how it is in the air, as Bonanza has large side windows.
I like my I Fly700 and my wish list includes seeing a built-in/ intergral battery pack. Having an AC adaptor following you around the house is not practical, Same in the aircraft, a remote battery pack, is not a good idea. Having Weather capabiity in future would be nice. Adding Geo to approach is highly desired, and an ON-OFF switch on the unit itself is a very good idea. No need for auto mode. Lets keep both the unit and subscription at reasonable cost.
Best regards
