After tiring of ridiculous database costs for a VFR KMD 150 I removed it ...threw it on Ebay and put a piece of .080 T6 aluminum over the opening . I fed a mcx to bnc adapter cable through a 3/8 "hole in the back to the ifly connecting it to a KA92 external antenna. I am still using the cigarette plug so that it is totally portable and FAA compliant .
Here is a shot flying towards the Long Island sound. I love seeing the water in the windscreen as well as on the ifly .!!
