I use a RAM windshield mount and iPad Mini 4. It's a great combination with iFly GPS.

Tim, thanks for letting us know...

Q: Have you ever had the mount fall off the window?

For some reason, probalby because they don't work in my car as advertised, I have a distrust of them working and fear of them falling off at an inopportune time...just wondering if you are 100% satisfied with your window mount...

Q: On that note, do you remove it from time to time, or does it STAY in your plane on the window pretty much permanently?

Thanks in advance.

I no longer have a medical so I fly a rental Cessna SkyCatcher and Remos GX. I am totally happy with the windshield mount, but it has fallen off a time or two. No big problem since it doesn't go far. I just stick it back on when I'm not landing.

I'm left-handed, so I want the tablet on the left side. I also want it stationary and not yoke mounted. The RAM mount works well for me. I included a swivel mount so I can rotate between portrait and landscape. I do wish iFly could switch without a restart, but that's not a big deal.

I advise you don't leave the suction cup on all the time.  If conditions are right, any suction cup stuck long term on plexy glass can cause some deformity.

I had the windshield mount fall off a couple of times.  Ever since, I add a bit of saliva to the back and it has never come off.  Ever pretty tough to get off after removing the suction lever.  I like it over the yoke mount as it doesn't obscure any intruments.  but You give up a bit of windshield view also.   I mount mine to the right of the Mag Compass.
