Here's the use case:

Flying along listening to music and get called by air traffic control unexpectedly.

Any chance of pausing or muting music directly from navigation or at least a faster path to switch to music and keep running nav in background?

Paul: If you have an intercom in your airplane with an auxiliary or music input you can run the iFly music output (audio out) directly into the intercom's audio input. Most intercoms will automatically mute the aux/music input when voice is detected on the Comm radio. ===Ralph

Thanks, Ralph. I wish that it did work that way.

I have a PS Engineering 501 intercom and am running from the ifly to to the aux input (now with a ground loop isolator to reduce noise). The intercom does reduce the volume of incoming muisc on the aux input when anyone in the cabin talks on the intercom, but does not mute it. That lasts for only a few seconds and it returns to normal volume. The main problem It also doesn't reduce the volume at all for sound incoming from the radio. So the music happily continues while ATC is talking. The 15 seconds it takes to get to the music app and pause the music is a long time under those conditions.

Paul: Sorry to hear that. As someone once said . . . "I feel yer pain!" I have a PS Engineering PM2000 and it has the automatic mute feature, which makes it nice for music but not for terrain or obstacle warnings that you want to hear and NOT get muted. ====Ralph

Is anyone using, or having to use a ground loop isolator to reduce the ifly audio noise. There is a lot of static noise on mine. Curious as to what type/brand of isolator folks are using.
