I may have missed it somewhere but a easy to use Weight & Balance calculator in flight planning would be very helpful. The ability to email or export the results would also be very helpful. Thanks for a great app!

This is a great idea.  My favorite online W&B calculator was Javascript-based, and Chrome won't support it anymore, and IE complains bitterly about it before grudgingly letting the script run.  Would be nice to have one built-in to iFly.

I'd be satisfied if different aircraft (i.e., different W&B envelopes) could be saved, and different loading configurations for each aircraft could also be saved.

Hi Orovilleguy and Cobra - Weight and Ballance calculations are made for spreadsheets.  If you have a spreadsheet app on your phone or tablet, contact me and I'd be glad to send a copy of my Excel Wt. & Bal. spreadsheet to you - just contact me.  My sheet is for my Cessna 172, however the plane has a 180 HP engine so the numbers not standard.  But, the sheet would be easy to modify for any plane.  Oh, my sheet also has a graph showing the C.G. limits and how the C.G. moves as fuel is burned.  The graph might not work for all spreadsheet apps out there but the calculation part is pretty simple and should work in any SS app.   -  Jim Williams

Jim_W, thanks for the offer--I'd be curious to see your spreadsheet.  I'm reluctant to post an email address here, though.  Any chance you have something like Google Drive or Dropbox where you could set the file permissions to be sharable, at least for a while?  If not, thanks anyway for the offer.

It woud still be nice to have a W&B tool function built-in to iFly.

Hi Cobra - I'll try attaching my spreadsheet here: Well, that didn't work.  I'll try a print screen file:  Well, that worked - I'll try the xlsx file again:  OK - the xlsx filed uploaded this time. It helps to know how to attach files to a post!  Anyway, the file seems to be working if you save a copy of it from this post.  If you have any questions about how to use it, just post your questions here.  Of course you know that your aircraft's weight and arm data can be found in  you a/c owner's handbook.  -  Jim Williams
