Blake,

Not bad. I think you'll be able to strike all red from your list shortly as the Custom Waypoints and Aircraft Performance (Profiles) are on the short list to be shared with flight plans and more. Glad to see lots of Done/Good on your list. Thanks for that report.

Accuracy of winds aloft is only as good as the information they are being fed.

That is a start but it goes considerably further than that; good requirements, design, and then implementation. Only then if you don't get some bonus feature of a bug. Based on what I see implemented, this high resolution winds a loft, definitely has opportunity to miss a small but vital detail any where in that process. All of which could drive an erroneous answer.

Until someone invents a device that can measure winds aloft in real time, any projection is a crap shoot. Sending up a balloon once or twice a day like we do now and predicting the winds for the next 24 hours is never going to be any more accurate than it is now. The vast majority of states only have one balloon site, some have none, and a few have more. Texas has 6, California has 2. At least the high res display and vertical profile window help take the guesswork out of reading the textual forecast.

What are you talking about? winds aloft are forecast by the National Weather service I suppose. What can IFly do beyond that other than display that forecast on the screen?
