David, Walter - I agree with OldPilot. Look at the instruments in your third picture. They go from dark to light as they go down the display. Also, I noticed in your third picture, that you had your cabin night light on (red light). I wonder if that could cause the effect? I think the screen is polarized. - Jim Williams

The photo does not represent accurately what the screen looked like to my eye. I can clearly see what you are talking about, but the live screen looks perfect both on vector and sectionals to me. The photos were taken with an LG G3 smart phone and the center of the photo is somewhat overexposed.

David is this repeatable for you? Can you restart iFly and generate this same defect repeatably? Also, did you start in Day Mode, and then switch to night mode part way into it? It's possible that the timing of switching to night mode might have an impact on the results. I'll be trying to reproduce this one myself too, so that it can be fixed for 9.1. This definitely smells like a software bug, IMO.

Brian,

I started in the day mode with a WAC, dimmed all the way down with the remote, then switched to the night mode, then went to the vector mode. It was when I zoomed out that I first noticed the much brighter radar returns. As I remember the returns in the lower part of the screen stayed bright, while the ones in the upper part changed back and forth on a one to two minute interval. The terrain warnings for the mountains to my north stayed dim and blinked as I have selected.

I will check and see where the opacity for the overlays is set and watch for this the next time I have some weather.

Thanks,

David

Thanks David. Hopefully I can reproduce this too; if so, that makes fixing it a whole lot easier.
