To IFly, Could you, when doing menu>about>connected divices>select wireless devices, to add a "connect" box, to make it possible to restart/reconnect the selected device.

Because I just cannot find a way to restart/reconnect my Stratux in flight.

Thank you

You can shut down the Stratux if you're connected to it by going to Menu -> Exit Application -> Shutdown Stratux. You'll have to disconnect and reconnect power to get it back up though. That's not normally something we recommend in flight though, as it only works if the Stratux is working properly and shouldn't need a reboot.

We can only send commands to the Stratux over WiFi, so if you're having a connection issue iFly will just be shouting into the void until that's fixed. Most devices won't let us control the WiFi at all for security reasons, so that has to be done through the operating system.

Shaun, Why would a connected and working Stratux suddenly loose his connection?, and would it be possible to find a way ,for us to go back to network setup and do a reconnect from there, possiibly in the Background without having to reboot the IFly GPS? a complete reboot in flight is not very pleasant.

Thanks

Is it happening on your Samsung tablet, iFly 740, or the Windows machine? If it's just on the Samsung, it might be one of their "helpful" features like Smart Network Switch or the power saving settings, and not the Stratux at all. Otherwise, it's probably on the Stratux side and the card failing or filling up is 99% of the problems on those.

The iFly units can be run in the background so you can get to Settings and check things without shutting down. Menu -> Exit Application -> Run in Background.

Shaun, this is Happening on my IFly 740. Ergo my question, I can understand other devices may be "IFFY" but the 740 should be solid and stable.

Maybe a solid wire, serial connection could be found, my 740 is 2 feet from the stratux, or a way to restart the Stratux in flight short of a full reboot.

thanks
