SkyBeacon/TailBeacon Authorized Dealer

I just recieved a text from my A+P. He said he JUST became an "authorized dealer and installer" -- not really sure what this means, but it sounds GOOD to have someone on our aerodrome who has a direct link to the company!

Anyone out there an "authorized dealer"? What does it mean? Sounds pretty good to me that the company is populating general aviation with people who have expertise and product knowledge.

I assume an authorized dealer would be someone you could order from instead of direct from the manufacturer. A dealer may or may not stock the device.

Here's (probably?) what "authorized" may mean (...from uAvionix):

"Q: What is a Qualified Installer (QI)?: A QI has a special relationship with uAvionix which allows you to purchase direct from uAvionix at a discount, and sell product to the end user at MSRP. You make a profit on the resale, and through your installation services with your customer."
