Very interesting thread! I am running iFly on a Nexus 7, but have recently switched to an SP3 for my main windows machine. I dock it in both of my offices so I have a real keyboard, monitor, and mouse. When out & about I use the touch and pen features. For me, the SP3 is too big for the cockpit and too big for portability in general, but if the hardware gods give us an 8" Win 10 tablet I would love to ditch both the SP3 and the N7 and just go with one tablet that runs everything I use..

That's what I want. One tablet to replace my Windows laptop and Nexus 7.

You might try the non-Pro Surface 3 that was rolled out recently. It has a 10.8" diagonal (1" bigger than the current iPads) so it's less than 1" longer and 1/2" wider and about .01" thicker. Also has built in GPS and is much less expensive.
