Good question. In short, it's the ability to configure iFly for an Instruments-only mode which shows 6 instruments that are typical to see in cockpits. Here's a mock-up snapshot to give you an idea, taken from an open-source implementation we found on CodeProject named "Avionic Instrument Controls" by Chootair.
Due to obvious limitations on available data feeds, aspects of these instruments will likely be omitted (e.g. "Airspeed" shown would be replaced with "GroundSpeed", and the "Turn Quality" ball inside the "Turn Coordinator" may not be avaialble).
Brian: Thanks for sharing the info and image depicting the possible 6-pack layout. However, the layout shown in your post does not conform to the *standard* arrangement of the instruments. The Artificial Horizon (AH) should be in the CENTER of the top row with airspeed (Groundspeed) and the Altitude on either side. The Directional Gyro (DG) should be immediately beneath the AH, in the center of the second row. It should look more like the layout below. Of course the AH can be the same size to make it all fit the iFly screen, or you could use the spare space in the bottom left and right for buttons. But you gotta have the AH in the top row center and the DG immediately beneath it. That's the *standard* arrangment of instruments. ===Ralph
