You probably already know this, but as a reminder, you can set the opacity of the Nexrad presentation in the Map>Nexrad settings. I tone it down to 50% so I can see pretty well through the Nexrad.

Running overnight, I saw a light blue area iin weather, almost like being over the ocean! No rain, anyone know what that was?

maybe on the surface but anywhere >10 miles from the radar site is going to look higher, due to the fact the earth is round. So sure, at somewhere like KMIA it's clear and 75, but go up a few thousand feet and it's 15 degrees. That's a very rough explanation as to how hail forms as well.
