I thought I would give it a go, but it turned into a NOGO for me too.

iFly ver 11.1.17 on Windows desktop machine

iFlightPlanner AOPA version with both saved Routes and saved Flights. As I understand, it only syncs the saved Flights.

Selected "Sync with iFlightPlanner " in iFly and it looked like I had logged in to iFlightPlanner correctly:

Hit the Sync Now botton and everything froze. Had to use Task Manager to exit from iFly"

I'm sure we will get this working but I think we need a few more details........

Sounds like there's a difference between an "iFlightPlanner" account, and an "AOPA freebie iFlightPlanner" account.  iFly seems to work with the former, but not the latter.  Perhaps that is intentional?

I must admit that my first impression when reading the announcement for this feature seemed to imply that an upgrade to the "core" iFlightPlanner was needed to take advantage of syncing. I later convinced myself that perhaps the AOPA free version would be served also, but that may not be the case.

Awaiting clarification....

I found the AOPA announcement:

"The July 21 update allows pilots with iFlightPlanner Core or Premium memberships to send flight plans from iFlightPlanner for AOPA to ForeFlight, Garmin Pilot, FlyQ, FltPlan Go, Jeppesen FliteDeck Pro and Jeppesen Mobile FliteDeck, and WingX via the iFlightPlanner for iPad and iPhone apps."

“Right now, iFlightPlanner for AOPA can send flight plans to popular iOS EFBs, and we are reaching out to Android EFB developers to work on similar integrations,” said Eric Rush, AOPA director of IT product development.

Looks like it is a limitation imposed by iFlightPlanner. I guess those of us with the base AOPA version are SOL. Not really a problem now that I have iFly on my desktop, but before I did, I did use the AOPA version for my desktop planning which I prefer when at home.

Best, John

This is something that we've uncovered and are working quickly to rectify. It looks like as of right now IFP doesn't sync over to us. I'll make a post when I get more info and when we get this thing fixed. They feed all their data for their paid subscriptions, but not for the AOPA version.
