Jim, plug the camera into the R-CAM port, not the AV-In. Check out page 16 in the additional manual.
These cameras are pretty neat, and the cables alone are worth the asking price, but be careful if you try to use it as a taxi aid in a high-stance tail-dragger.

Can you hook up a GoPro camera to the iFly?

Tom,

We've had a Go-Pro connected here in the office and I know of a few pilots that successfully connected them. You would need the Analog cable for the GoPro, The HDMI or USB won't work. It's been a while and if I recall GoPro made a special "Composite Adapter" for analog video connections that the iFly uses, plus you have to connect to the Video-In, I don't recall getting it to work with the R-Cam port. I'll take a look at mine tonight and maybe jog the memory on it. I hope this helps.

I am ignorant about what the purpose or to what end one would use a recording camera into the IFly. Please shed some light.

Thanks,

Charlie

Hi Guys,

Just to make sure I dont short circuit something with camera - please share which wires go to power and the polarity. I dont have it in front of me so I can't quite remember the cable configuration. Soon as I get this squared away - I will plug it into the R-CAM port and watch it come to life.

BTW, why do you not recommend the use of the cam with high stance tail wheel aircraft? I thought that was the whole point - being able to see ahead while taxing ... thus eliminating the need to do s-turns down the taxiway
