Hi Walter,

I've been keeping up with the version 6 updates and I am quite happy with what I've seen thus far. When do you think version 6 will be complete? I expect to be purchasing my IFly 700 in early October. It would be nice for all of the updates to be completed by then. I can't wait to take that first flight with the unit.

Sam, you may as well get the iFly now. It doesn't seem "All" the updates are going to be finished anytime soon. Even if Version 6 were to be released today, Walter solicits and acts upon suggestions from the peanut gallery (us), and he's already talking about version 7. Updating to the new version is no more difficult than plugging a jump drive into your unit, after downloading the newest version from the iFly website. As a bonus, an e-mail was just sent out offering a limited number of demo units from OSH at a reduced price.

Would it be possible to have [weather] an overlay on the other maps?

It's possible, but wuold slow things down, and the sectinal charts are so busy already it is sort of difficult to look at. So we're reserving this for a possible feature in a future release, and it will be configurable.

Walter,

Will v6 bring back the altitude being saved to the gps log? Or if there's a way to do that already (and view it in google earth), how does one go about it? I can get it converted now, but without altitude.

Thanks,

Chuck

Correct, but we still need to do some work to support each new device. Zaon is one of the devices we're looking to support in the future.
