SIL - Source Integrity Level

0 1 2 3

0% 0% 0% 100%

Does that mean my transmitter is broadcasting a 3 when it should be a 0?

Second box

SILs - SIL Suplement

0 1

100% 0%

Or does this one mean I am boadcasting a 0 like I am supposed to?

Yes. In one of the exchanges I had with the FAA to understand what they were telling me to correct, they wrote: "A portable unit should be configured such that it transmits a SIL of 0 (far left column) 100% of the time, whereas your unit is currently transmitting a SIL = 3 (far right column) 100% of the time." Here's the table that comment was referring to:

After Don updated the firmware and the FAA was satisfied, that portion of the report looked like this:

Here's another excerpt of the report with reference to the Baro data that FAA's complaining to you about (this is after Don's update, with SIL=0). I think maybe once the SIL output is set to 0, the FAA will essentially ignore the content of your broadcasts ("SIL=0" roughly translates to, "Don't listen to me--I can't be trusted!"), so maybe they'll lay off you. (Your broadcasts will still wake up the transmitters for traffic data, but anything you send won't make it to a flight controller display, from what I understand.)

Darn, then thats the problem, they think I am certified and broadcasting with the missing Baro Altitude

I have a question. Were you flying in the airspaces that required a working ADSB ie after 2020.? I am in the same boat, I like all the safety improvements that ADSB gives , but hardly ever fly where it will be required. Just trying to get a handle on where the surveillance is going on or concentrated. Thanks.

I was not in this airspace but very close to it. I think Cobra has figured out my problem in that I am brpadcasting a SIL or 3 when it should be 0. Waiting to hear back from Don at Skyguard to see if he can flash my Skyguard and fix this so I can continue to use it. For now the transmit is turned off.
