I read through the posts and I am not sure if the question regarding "How would ATC know you didn't have a TSO ADS-B out"

If it is in there let me appologize now, but, in my discussions with the owner of SkyGuard; The Vision Pro and all the ADS-B out devices transmit identification that can be used to verify the approval status. In short they will know you are using a non certified unit and that is ok untill 1/1/2020.

I know Don is trying to get approval but have not heard anything about his progress. I continue to have issues with dropout of the signal and have almost went to the expense of purchasing a permanent antenna. Seems lately my gps puck is not always seeing the sky well ehough to turn the transmitter on.

Anyone know if they make an extension cable for the gps puck?

Your the man Jim. Do I take it that you extended your GPS Puck to the glare sheid for a better view of the sky?

I have the main unit on the hatrack and the xmit antenna os hung form one of the windows. The gpe puck is in the window over the baggage door.

That location is not ideal for the gps puck as there are times when it looses site of the satelites, so an extension would allow me to get it back on the glare shield. If I do not upgrade aircraft I will probably put a permanent xmit antenna on the belly.
