Sam,

It's only $19.99 to add the App updates to your current subscription. So, if you have a 700 and a current VFR subscription, the just login on our site and buy the $19.99 Universal Subscription Upgrade for $19.99, then you can update the 700 and the app both. No need for two subscriptions. I hope this clears it up.

Although I don't have the iPad, or app yet (although my wife has an iPad... I wonder if she'd miss it?...) I have a few questions.

Will the app work on an iPhone as well?

Suppose my normal subscription runs out in June and I purchased the $20 upgrade today. Would my upgrade only last until June, or until Dec?

Would it be (or is it already) possible to get a pro-rated subscription for the months left until the full subscription renewal date then simply have one renewal date per year?

Mike,

If you buy the $19.99 on the App Store or through us, it will pro-rate. Basically if you have six months of subscription left, it will use about $10 for the 6 months of Universal Subscription Upgrade, then extend your VFR or IFR with the extra. That way your Subscription and Upgrade will end at the same time.

I will probably add this to my wife's iPAD2, but it is a WiFi only. So I need to get an external GPS. What are the recommendations out there for this?

I like the Dual, personally. The Garmin Glo is nice, just have a hard time getting behind the big G.

We just set up as a dealer so we'ok have them on the store in the next week or so. The Dual xgps160 is the newest and it works with Android and the iPad, allowing multiple devices to connect simultaneously. They will run about $149. We'ok also have their ADS-B receiver, the xgps170, for about $699. Stay tuned.
