OK: I can always find something new. I was reviewing my plotted route to OSH last night and found parts of the route line went from the familiar purple to red. Looking at weather in the area did not match the places the line was red. I can't find anything that explanes what that indicates. It is in multiple places including close to the departure airport and randomly along the route. Some long distances, some just a small spot. Hmmmmmmm.....

Your plotted route is taking you through a Restricted area or any other "no fly zone". Also known as the F16 notification line.

Well, one would think it was something like that. But there was a short red line on the departure side of HEQ, then a very long one between BUB and LCG and NOT in a restricted zone. Looking at the line today: there are none that are red. What happened overnight that changed that? It was not red in the O'Neal MOA. There was a small red dot on the edge of the Volk East MOA near OSH but not through the area itself........frown

A Red course line is a warning. I've found that when your flight plan's Set Altitude is too low, the course line will turn Red indicating which part of the route will come close to/impact with terrain.

Huh. Except everything East of my home field is DOWNHILL. It is a gradual decline from Colorado to OSH. And, again, why is it suddenly back to purple this morning? Gravity shift....wink
