NavWorx ADS600-B

I just got word from Bill Moffitt of NavWorx that they have finely gotten my C-182 (and other aircraft) added to the STC AML for their ADS600-B (and BG) He is awaiting snail mail of the documents from the FAA. I purchased this unit for my C-182 several months ago, but have been waiting for the 182 to be added to the AML. Bill is to send me the updated AML as soon as he received it. I plan to start my install right away.
I plan to use my iFly 720 as my primary display. Any tips for using the 720 with the NavWorxs would be appreciated.

I just received the updated STC AML list from Bill at NavWorx. Here is a list of aircraft now covered by the STC...

Cessna 150, 152, 172, 172RG, 175, 177, 177RG, 182, 185, 206, 210, 310 (do not see the 180 or 182RG)
Piper PA-28, PA-20, PA-22, PA-23, PA-46
Mooney M20 threw M20S
Aero Commander 112 and 114 series
Beach 95 & 55 series
Navion
Citabria & Decathlon
Grumman AA-1 and AA-5 series, and AG-5B
Looks like all Maules
Bellanca 17-30 & 17-31

If you are thinking of installing the NavWorx and have questions about if your specific aircraft from the list above is covered, you can ping me. If you aircraft is not on the list above, you can talk to your local FAA Happy to Serve You office and see if it can be approved on a 337. My local FAA is a Not so Happy to Serve you unless you have an approved STC with your aircraft listed on the AML. If that is also the case for you, contact Bill at NavWorx to see if they are working on getting your plane added.

I finely got the Navworx installed in my 182, but have to wait till the annual inspection is complete to test it out. I will be for now using the iFly for my primary display for traffic and weather, with still thoughts of adding a iPad (with iFly S/W) as a second screen. Any experience out there with using Navworx with the iFly?

Hello Rich, I have also been thinking about getting the NavWorx ADS600-B for my cessna 172. Can you tell me if you get the unit and the TransMon etc., will you be able to use the iFly 700 or 740 as your display? Will the installation meet the 2020 certification to keep you legal?

Yes, the price has come down since I purchased the unit last year. I paid about $3K for the ADS600-B, which at that time included the Transmon, Wi-Fi dongle, and certified UAT and GPS antennas. I think the price has come down $2 - 300 for the same package. I have made a few flights with my 720 now, and it is working great. I think it would support a wired connection to a 700, but not sure. I have sent in my original Wi-Fi dongle for upgrade to their new version that supports DHCP, and will support more then one device at a time. My plan is to have the 720 on the yoke, and a second screen on an iPad to display more info. This meets the 2020 mandate.
