You must have navigation enabled in the iFly (flight plan, direct to, etc) before the Trio will "see" the iFly. When tooling around the area, I always have my iFly 700 set "direct to" my airport so the Trio Pro Pilot will have nav info.

Sam --- thanks

After much "fussing", I did discover just what you are saying ---- at least, in my case, I do need to have the autopilot "on" before I power up the iFly (I use the battery in-line as my on-off switch). The Trio then asks for a "fltpln" and I enter a "direct-to" waypoint. After that I can do the "trk" or "crs" just fine on the Trio. Works really good, and now I am thinking about upgrading to the Trio Pro, to get the altitude hold (rather than doing the add-on AH).

Take care,

Ron

Since this post deals with autopilots, I just tested my new autopilot installation (TruTrak) with the iFly this weekend.

Flawless but since we iFly pilots can be picky, it would be nice to have a "turn anticipation" feature in the iFly. That way the transitions between legs would be smoother.

Also, I am trying to figure out how to "activate" a subsequent leg in the flight plan. I can only find a way to fly direct to the next point (or any in the flight plan) but sometimes you would like the autopilot to cut a corner and intercept the next leg. maybe I am wrong but cant find a way to do this in the iFly.

Chris,

Good to hear it is working for you with your Tru-Trak. Turn Anticipation is on our development wishlist.

As for activating a particular leg, that is not possiblt at this time. You can use the "Direct-To" option for the next leg, that will drop a point where you are and direct your TruTrak to the next waypoint. If this is a Flight Plan that you will be returning on, I'd recommend saving it before you start pushing the "Direct-To" buttons as it adds those turning point insertions, which might be a good thing.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Shane and the advice on dealing with the flight plan.

For me, turn anticipation is neat but not as important as my other request of vector mode declutter :)

Regards,
Chris
