Updating the Operating System (OS) on your iFly 520, 720, or 740
Notes and Warnings:
- Only perform this procedure if Adventure Pilot support has instructed you to do so
- iFly 700 may not be updated from this page, only iFly 720, 740, or 520
- This update does not update maps, databases, or navigation software, only the OS
- Follow the below procedure exactly, be sure and select the correct download for your device / serial # range
***IF YOU INSTALL THE WRONG OS YOUR UNIT WILL NO LONGER FUNCTION
***DO NOT INSTALL AN OS UPDATE UNLESS DIRECTED TO DO SO BY ADVENTURE PILOT STAFF
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Remove the SD card from your iFly GPS and insert it into your computer
- Download the OS Update Zip file below. For 720/520 devices, be sure to click the link with the initial serial number sequence that matches the serial number below the barcode on the back of your device
- Save the downloaded file to the SD card
- Unzip the downloaded file on the SD card (in Windows, right click the file and select Extract All). Note, these files must be on the first level (or "root") of the SD card, not in a sub-folder.
- With the unit powered off, Insert the SD back into your iFly GPS.
- Plug in your iFly GPS (Do not do this on battery power.)
- The OS Install will begin. (Do not unplug the iFly during this process!)
- When complete, power off your iFly GPS and wait 30-45 seconds, then power it back up. You are done.
